Assassins is an American black comedy historical revue-style musical depicting nine misfits who tried (with varying levels of success) to assassinate US presidents.

Predictably, many early critics didn't fully understand its lampooning of the so-called American Dream, but has since been vindicated as one of Sondheim's greats.

This page has both the original 2004 broadway cast and a Swedish language production from 2013 that I absolutely adore - the costumes are spectacular - and fully recommend.
